Three Steps for Everyone.
One Proven Methodology.
Your First Job isn't a job board. It's a methodology — a structured, repeatable process that connects college students' unique aptitudes to employers' real hiring needs. Here's exactly how it works for each audience.
For Students — 3 Steps
1. Take Your 10-Minute Professional Aptitude Profile
Register as a student member and complete your 10-minute Professional Aptitude Profile. This assessment maps your unique strengths, work style, and career aptitudes — and generates your Killarney Score, the proprietary metric employers use to evaluate your fit with their position or workforce.
2. Submit Your Resume
Upload your resume and our system automatically standardizes it for the exclusive Your First Job applicant pool. You go from applicant to pre-evaluated candidate — formatted consistently and ready for employer review.
3. Receive Personalized Coaching (If Desired)
Work with a Your First Job coach to sharpen your profile, prepare for interviews, and navigate the offer process. Coaching is optional — but students who engage with it move faster and land better opportunities.
For Parents — 3 Steps
1. Understand the 3 Options for Assistance
Review the three levels of support available: self-guided student membership, coached membership, and fully managed career activation. Choose the approach that fits your student's needs and your involvement preference.
2. Select One Option & Turn Your Student Into an Applicant
Choose your support path and activate your student's membership. Their profile enters the exclusive applicant pool immediately — visible to the employers searching our database right now
3. Get Updates (If Requested)
Opt in to receive progress updates on your student's activity — or let them take full ownership. Either way, you'll know they have a structured process and a real team behind them.
For Employers — 3 Steps
1. Register Your Company
Create your employer account and access the Your First Job platform. Registration is quick and gives you confidential visibility into our student applicant database.
2. Select Your Candidate Criteria
Define your ideal candidate using our search and filter tools: college major, GPA, skills, graduation year, location, and Killarney Score range. Our system queries the database and returns a ranked, standardized shortlist.
3. Receive Standardized Applicant Information
Matched applicants are delivered as consistent, standardized profiles — Killarney Score included, resume attached. Review in-dashboard, share via email, or download as CSV for your team.
