Privacy Policy

I acknowledge that I have had the opportunity to review the Your First Job Privacy Policy describing how Your First Job collects, uses, maintains, processes, protects, and discloses personal information.

2. Private Account Information vs. Employer-Visible Candidate Information

Not all information associated with your Your First Job account will be shared with employers.

Your First Job distinguishes between Private Account Information and Candidate Information.

Private Account Information is information used to administer and secure your account or provide our services and is not intended to be displayed to employers. This may include passwords or authentication credentials, payment information, internal administrative records, private communications with Your First Job, and other information that is not reasonably necessary for recruiting or employment-related purposes.

Candidate Information is career-related information that may be made available to registered employers for recruiting and employment purposes.

Candidate Information may include your name, contact information, educational background, graduation date, academic information you choose to provide, employment and internship experience, résumé, skills, certifications, extracurricular and leadership experience, career interests, industry interests, geographic preferences, relocation preferences, employment availability, work authorization information, Professional Aptitude Profile results, Killarney Score and related profile information, and other career-related information designated as part of your candidate profile.

3. Professional Aptitude Profile and Killarney Score

As part of Your First Job, you may complete a Professional Aptitude Profile or other assessment designed to help identify workplace preferences, professional characteristics, and potential alignment with different organizational environments.

Your results may include your Killarney Score, individual profile dimensions, descriptive identities, career-related observations, and employer compatibility or matching information.

You authorize Your First Job to use these results to provide career guidance to you and to assist in identifying potential alignment between you and participating employers.

Your First Job may make your Killarney Score, profile dimensions, descriptive results, and related candidate-matching information available to registered employers.

Your individual responses to assessment questions will not ordinarily be provided to employers. Employers will generally receive the resulting scores, profiles, summaries, or compatibility information rather than your individual assessment responses, unless you separately authorize otherwise or disclosure is required by law.

Assessment results and compatibility scores are intended to be informational tools. They should not be interpreted as guarantees of employment success or definitive determinations of whether a student should or should not be hired.

4. Authorization to Share Candidate Information with Employers

A primary purpose of Your First Job is to connect students and early-career candidates with prospective employers.

By providing your affirmative consent below, you expressly authorize Your First Job to make your Candidate Information available to employers registered with Your First Job.

Registered employers may search, review, filter, evaluate, download where permitted, or otherwise access Candidate Information for legitimate recruiting, employment, networking, talent-identification, and career-related purposes.

You further authorize Your First Job to identify you as a potential candidate for employment opportunities and to provide or recommend your Candidate Information to registered employers when Your First Job determines that your education, experience, interests, preferences, Professional Aptitude Profile, Killarney Score, or other candidate characteristics may align with an employer or employment opportunity.

Your authorization permits Your First Job to share Candidate Information with all employers registered and authorized to use the Your First Job employer platform, subject to Your First Job’s policies and employer terms of use.

5. Authorization for Employers to Contact You

By participating in the employer-access portion of Your First Job, you authorize registered employers that receive or access your Candidate Information to contact you directly regarding:

  • Full-time employment opportunities
  • Internships
  • Interviews
  • Recruiting activities
  • Career fairs and employer events
  • Networking opportunities
  • Informational conversations
  • Other legitimate career and employment opportunities

You understand that receiving communications from an employer does not create an employment relationship and does not guarantee that you will receive an interview or job offer.

You remain free to respond to or decline any employer communication or opportunity.

6. Accuracy and Responsibility for Your Information

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide to Your First Job is truthful, accurate, and reasonably current.

You agree not to knowingly provide false, misleading, or materially inaccurate information concerning your education, academic performance, employment history, qualifications, skills, experience, work authorization, or other candidate information.

You are responsible for updating your profile when material information changes.

7. No Guarantee of Employment

Your First Job provides career-development resources, assessments, information, candidate profiles, employer connections, matching tools, and other services intended to assist students in preparing for and pursuing employment.

Your First Job does not guarantee employment.

Participation does not guarantee that:

  • An employer will view your profile
  • You will be contacted by an employer
  • You will receive an interview
  • You will receive a job offer
  • An employer will consider you qualified for a particular position
  • Your Killarney Score will result in an employer match
  • Any particular employment or career outcome will occur

All employment decisions remain solely with participating employers.

8. Independent Employer Decisions

Employers participating in Your First Job are independent organizations.

Your First Job does not control and is not responsible for an employer’s recruiting, interviewing, hiring, compensation, background-check, onboarding, employment, promotion, termination, or other personnel decisions or practices.

Employers are responsible for complying with applicable employment, discrimination, privacy, and other laws governing their use of candidate information and their hiring practices.

Your First Job’s assessments, matching tools, recommendations, compatibility scores, and candidate information are intended to supplement—not replace—an employer’s independent recruiting and hiring processes.

9. Duration of Your Authorization

Your authorization to share your Candidate Information remains effective while you participate in Your First Job until you withdraw your consent.

You may withdraw your authorization for future employer sharing by using the applicable account or privacy settings provided by Your First Job or by contacting Your First Job through the contact method identified in our Privacy Policy.

Following withdrawal, Your First Job will discontinue making your Candidate Information available to employers as required by applicable law and our policies.

Withdrawal will apply prospectively. Information lawfully disclosed to an employer before your withdrawal may remain in that employer’s records, and Your First Job cannot necessarily retrieve, delete, or control information previously received by an independent employer, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Withdrawal of employer-sharing consent may limit or eliminate Your First Job’s ability to provide employer-matching and recruiting-related services to you.

10. Privacy Policy

Your First Job’s collection, use, storage, processing, disclosure, retention, and protection of personal information are further described in the Your First Job Privacy Policy.

You should review the Privacy Policy before completing registration.

Where required by applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information, which may include rights to request access, correction, deletion, or other actions concerning your information.

Instructions for submitting privacy-related requests will be provided in the Your First Job Privacy Policy.

11. Terms of Use

Your participation in Your First Job is also governed by the Your First Job Terms of Use.

The Terms of Use address additional matters relating to eligibility, account security, acceptable use, intellectual property, membership, services, platform conduct, disclaimers, limitations, and other conditions associated with using Your First Job.

12. Release and Acknowledgment of Risk

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release Your First Job, Inc., and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents from claims arising solely from the authorized disclosure of your Candidate Information in accordance with this consent, the Your First Job Privacy Policy, and the Your First Job Terms of Use.

This release does not waive rights that cannot legally be waived and does not release Your First Job from liability arising from its violation of applicable law.

You acknowledge that transmitting information electronically and sharing information with independent employers necessarily involves some risk. Although Your First Job may establish rules governing employer access and use of Candidate Information, Your First Job cannot guarantee the conduct of every independent employer or representative who receives information through the platform.
